Makkah is a city in the Hejaz region of Saudi Arabia that is also the capital of the Makkah region. Its resident population in 2012 was roughly 2 million, although visitors are more than triple this number every year during the pilgrimage period.
Vision and design approach (concept)
Mecca is noticed as the holiest city in the religion of Islam, and a pilgrimage to it, known as the hajj is requisite for all able Muslims. Mecca is home to the Kaaba, by a bulk depiction it is Islam’s holiest site. In its modernized period, mecca has seen astounding enlargement in size and infrastructure, home to structures such as the Abraj al bait, also known as the Makkah royal clock tower hotel, the world’s fourth towering building and the building with the third largest amount of floor area. During this inflation, mecca has lost some historical complex and archaeological sites, such as the Ajyad fortress. Recently, more than 15 million Muslims visit mecca annually, counting several million during the few days of the hajj. Consequently, mecca has become one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the Muslim world.
Architectural themes, moods and inspirations
The new Makkah tower will encompass bazaars, lounges, restaurants, health care spa, standards, executive, luxury hotel rooms, corridors, roof swimming pool, all of these buildings will be upon an Islamic pattern consisting of Islamic decoration, which tends to avoid using fanciful images, makes frequent use of geometric patterns which have developed over the centuries. The geometric designs in Islamic art are often built on combinations of repeated squares and circles, which may be overlapped and interweaved, as can arabesques .these may constitute the entire decoration, may form a framework for floral or calligraphic ornamentation, or may withdraw into the background around other concepts. Islamic pattern generation mainly using the basic models of a hexagon, with depth to conceive a façade that will be used for viable reasons like avoiding direct sunlight to the hotel with specific intensity as the pattern’s hotel change in scale and grow according, likewise towards the sunlight and the building’s height around the hotel that will definitely have a role of shading it out.
