Project Summary
Horses have always been key members in the history of all cultures around the world. And giving them the adequate respect and perfectly dynamic and aesthetically pleas-ing sense of space is a simple yet noble goal. Once known for its magical equestrian shows and international competitions of all kinds, Egypt and Egyptian-Arabian horses have always been one of the most valuable breeds of horses known worldwide making them a strong means of attraction when it comes to the equestrian field. The core concept of this project is to bring international equestrian sports and shows back to the heart of Egypt with a newfound perspective taking it back to the future and into all corners of the world. Having the horse track at the center of the field surrounded by touristic and commercial attractions all to get to the main goal, shedding the light back on equestrian competitions and horse shows.
The area of El-Shams club once being an essential attraction in the city to become one of the most neglected spaces in town. Developing a plot like this one is a great challenge but also a massive opportunity to create something that changes the perception of what architecture can do to a simple unused piece of land. Combining between different facilities and functionalities while maintaining the feeling of the vastness of the space through the use of cross rings in the architectural formation inspired by the track and the movement of the horses to give a smooth flow to the place for visitors and visual comfort for the horses. This revolutionary development is considered one of the most valuable investments for the city at this time and place helping the city of Heliopolis regain its glory and elegance once again.
PROJECT IDEA
Reviving the horse racing arena and developing it to be among the global track by providing all logistic, commercial and hotel services for such global projects. Investing in the place to be a distinctive sign of the unique Egypt region and a global destination for equestrian sport tourism by exploiting the elements of the place and using modern methods in buildings and the urban design of the theaters. The idea of urban design uses the cross rings in the architectural formation inspired by the track and the movement of the horses to give a smooth flow to the place for visitors and a visual comfort for the horses.
